In September and October we carried out a survey among selected national thematic experts to collect inputs for the future programme strategy. The aim was to find out, in which thematic fields our partners perceive the highest needs for transnational cooperation to meet future challenges.

At the EU Week of Regions and Cities 2019, we hosted a participatory session, in which practitioners and policy makers shared their views and ideas on the future orientation of our programme. Inputs collected informed the territorial analysis.

In November we invited selected national thematic experts to discuss national strategic preferences and build consensus on future policy choices. We also used the workshop to collect initial inputs regarding potential topics, actions and target audiences.

The survey was launched in June 2020. It collected feedback on strategic choices taken and inputs on potential fields of action and target groups. This feedback will now be thoroughly analysed, helping us further shape the programme strategy.

In parallel to the survey, national contact points organised partner dialogues to collect inputs. These dialogues allowed for more in-depth discussions and helped to collect more qualitative inputs in addition to the transnational survey.

In focus groups with overlapping transnational Interreg programmes and other key actors like macro-regional strategies, we collected feedback and raised awareness on programme strategic choices in the future.
