Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE has supported transnational cooperation in central Europe for more than 20 years.
Our funding helps regions and cities to become stronger and more resilient without reinventing the wheel.
We are building trust beyond borders and connect people to work together on
innovation, low carbon topics, natural and cultural heritage as well as transport and mobility.
Now the time has come to take our cooperation forward. January 2021 marked the beginning of a new cycle for European funding. Learn more about the new programme strategy from the latest version of the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme 2021-27 (version, June 2021), which is expected to be officially approved by the European Commission by the end of 2021.

The Working Group Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE 2021-27 was established in June 2018 and formalised on 14 November 2019.
The group consists of delegates from all partner states and an observer from the European Commission. It is responsible for steering the drafting process of the new programme and chaired by the chair of the current Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE 2014-2020 monitoring committee. The drafting of the new programme as well as the accompanying strategic environmental assessment (SEA) are supported by external experts. The managing authority and joint secretariat of the current programme also contribute.
