On 24 May 2022, the national training and dissemination event was held in Ljubljana. In the first part, the results of the ForHeritage project were presented. The second part was focused more on different possibilities for funding cultural heritage, above all, on innovative financing schemes.

We invite you to watch a short video about Vodnik’s homestead Šiška, a house of reading, writing, and storytelling – the pilot project implemented by our Slovenian partners. The aim of the pilot was to test innovative financial resources for non-profit cultural products, carried out at Vodnik’s homestead under the name Fairytale Studio.

On 12 May 2022, the ForHeritage final conference took place, which was attended by 119 international participants from all around the Europe. During the event, 7 EU projects as well as recommendations and hints on the new 2021-2027 programming were presented.

On 6th of May 2022, an online workshop for Croatian experts in the field of heritage and public administration was held. The aim of the workshop was to present new knowledge on heritage financing and integrated heritage management.

Another online event is coming up!

On 4th of May 2022 Italian partners of the ForHeritage project will be organizing an online event aimed to discuss and learn more about public-private partnership applied to the management of cultural heritage sites.

On 19th of April 2022, a training workshop was held in Ljubljana. During the workshop, participants had the opportunity, among other things, to learn about the set of tools, developed within the project.

We are pleased to announce that the ForHeritage online conference “Main challenges and possible solutions for a sustainable cultural heritage management” will be held on 12th of May 2022 on Zoom platform. The event will run between 10:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. We kindly invite you to register and take part!

On Tuesday, 19th of April 2022 at 10:00 a.m., a regional training workshop will take place in Ljubljana. Regional training workshops are part of the regional adaptation and uptake process and are organised to provide stakeholders with the understanding on how to use the toolset, developed within the project.

A focus group discussion was held in Ljubljana on 30th of March. It was led by Primož Šporar, a renowned expert in the field of management and financing of non-profit organizations. The discussion focused on results obtained from the analysis of financing and management of cultural heritage within the region.

Comune di Cuneo has just published a call for expression of interest for the implementation of a Public-Private Partnership scheme in the Palazzo Santa Croce, the pilot site within the ForHeritage project.

Get inspired by the article Financial Sustainability of Cultural Heritage: A Review of Crowdfunding in Europe that has been just published by our project partner in Croatia, IRMO.

On the 26th of January 2021 our 4 pilot locations have been presented. The managers of these cultural heritage buildings will test the ForHeritage tools for better management and financing of cultural heritage.

The ForHeritage online event for the presentation and discussion on past experiences and lessons learnt in cultural heritage management took place on the 14th of October 2020, 10:00 – 12:30 CET.

The city of Cuneo has organised a meeting with 22 stakeholders representing local and regional institutions that could support the project in Italy.

ForHeritage kick off meeting has been held on the 25-26 March 2020 with the participation of all partner institutions and the Joint Secretariat.

Concise and practice-oriented set of tools for cultural heritage managers

Results from previously funded projects are reviewed, adjusted and clustered. As a result, an easily applicable set of tools is prepared that encompasses the following three perspectives of integrated cultural heritage management:

• social perspective actively involves community groups, citizens, NGOs and business partners

• economic and financial perspective, where different sources of funding apart from public are raised

• knowledge perspective, considering the importance of stakeholders’ capacities

Testing and validating the ForHeritage approach on pilot sites

Four pilot actions will be implemented adopting an integrated approach to heritage management:

• The Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle in Szczecin, Poland

• The Vodnik Homestead in Ljubljana, Slovenia

• The Benčić Complex in Rijeka, Croatia

• The Palazzo Santa Croce in Cuneo, Italy

Local and regional stakeholders will be involved in co-design and co-creation process through establishment and work with the stakeholders’ groups.

Pushing the results into the practice of the regions towards the post-2020 period

The integrated approach to heritage management will be transferred to wider territories in a participative process of adapting the ForHeritage toolset to a local and regional context:

• Westpomerania region in Poland

• Ljubljana Urban Region in Slovenia

• City of Rijeka in Croatia

• Piedmont region in Italy

As a result, a guide with step-by-step instructions will be prepared to help you with better management of cultural heritage.

Organising and running workshops for cultural heritage managers

As part of the regional adaptation and uptake process, training workshops will be organised to develop the competencies of actors working in the cultural heritage sector, including cultural and creative industries sector (CCI).

The aim of these workshops is to equip participants with tools that will contribute to more effective day-to-day management of heritage sites.

The content of the workshops will be adapted to local needs, circumstances and legal environment.
