ReSites partners will implement 11 Pilot Actions to test more sustainable and novel technical solutions in their brownfields to improve the environmental performance of the involved FUAs.

Each Pilot Action will investigate a specific critical aspect on brownfield management: brownfield revitalisation strategies and tools, novel monitoring systems, effective remediation methods.

Pilot solutions are meant to be replicable in other contaminated sites and strategies and tool can be adapted to different contexts.

9 Strategic Action Plans, one for each project functional urban area will be defined in two steps proposing valuable solutions to brownfield rehabilitation and their concrete sustainability.

Stemming from the brownfield analysis carried out in the first phase of the project, the Action Plans will identify interventions, measures and resources needed to bring off effective management of brownfield sites in central Europe FUAs.

2 transnational trainings, 9 local trainings and 8 study/site visits will be organised for public employees and stakeholders to increase their capacity to effectively manage brownfield regeneration in a sustainable way.

ReSites aims at providing the public sector with new skills and know-how on brownfield regeneration in order to improve the sites’ environmental conditions producing a positive impact on the surrounding inhabited areas.

ReSites partner will develop a common geo-information tool to support institutions in planning and managing brownfield regeneration in a more effective way. The ReSites Tool is planned as a site information system for online collaboration of public authorities that are concerned with brownfield rehabilitation.

It will be an easy to use Web GIS tool including only the most essential maps and data.

Other tools are the Common transferability manual and the Guidelines for FUA Strategic Action Plans.
